Frequently Asked Questions
A spring fastener is anything that can be used to hold two pieces of material together. The spring property in a spring fastener generally involves material that has some sort of memory to provide a force to hold the items together.
Fasteners can include anything such as nails, screws, washers, rivets any many more. Screws, nuts, rivets and most bolts require a machining process to produce and would be outside of our capability. Washers as well as some custom clips are among products we can produce both in our punch press and 4-slide departments.
Rivets, screws, nuts and bolts are generally among the strongest types of fasteners. Specialized materials and post production plating processes can help increase the strength of these items to both harden the material and reduce the possibility of corrosion.
Screws and bolts generally have the most holding power. However, this may vary based on application. Some other things that can affect holding power include the design of the application, material type and proper installation.
